ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State women’s soccer team extended its winning streak to four matches with a 4-0 victory over MSU Moorhead on Sunday. Darby Allen put together a four-point afternoon as the Huskies continued their push toward the postseason.

St. Cloud State struck in the 36th minute to open the scoring. Following a corner kick from Allen, the ball came to Gabby Zugel, who scored her first goal of the season. Allen and McKenna Breunig picked up assists on the play.

In the second half, Allen fed a pass to Linsey Trapino. The senior tapped the ball over to Breunig, who beat the goalkeeper in the 61st minute. It was her first goal of the season.

Just three minutes later, St. Cloud State was awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box. Allen stepped up and calmly buried the shot in the bottom-left corner. The four-point performance matched her career high for points in a match. Allen now leads the NSIC with eight assists on the season.

Jordan Kardelis rounded out the scoring in the 88th minute. Zugel recorded the lone assist, giving both Zugel and Breunig three points on the day.

Zoe Fujino made two saves to earn the shutout victory. It was the Huskies’ third consecutive clean sheet and the fourth career victory for the sophomore goalkeeper.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 8-4-3 overall and 7-3-2 in NSIC play. SCSU also moved past Bemidji State to take possession of fourth place in the conference standings. The top four teams in the NSIC earn home-field advantage in the first round of the postseason.
