A barn fire early Wednesday morning near Holdingford needed multiple fire departments to put out the blaze.

Stearns County Sheriff Steve Soyka says both the Holdingford and St. Stephen Fire departments reported to a fire east of Holdingford just after 4 a.m. The fire was reported by multiple witnesses and owner of the barn said he was unaware his barn was on fire. The barn stored cattle and vehicles, while all the cows escaped unharmed the building along with a skid loader and snowmobiles are considered a complete loss.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
