Authorities have identified the couple found dead on Tuesday in Big Lake.

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office says 66-year-old Michael John Knox and 68-year-old Shirley Leaser Knox were found in their Big Lake home.

A family member had not been able to contact the Knoxes for a few days, and called the Big Lake Police Department. Officers conducted a welfare check at their home, where they found the bodies just before noon on Tuesday.

While the Knoxes have been identified, the investigation behind their deaths is still active. Authorities believe there is no concern for the public related to the deaths.
