Brett Larson Named Assistant Coach On World Junior Squad

Men’s Hockey head coach Brett Larson was announced Wednesday as an assistant coach for the 2020 U.S. National Junior Team.

Larson is one of four assistants, the others are Steve Miller (Ohio State), David Lassonde (Dartmouth) and Jerry Keefe (Northeastern).

The four will serve under head coach Scott Sandelin. Larson will be reunited with Sandelin, his former bench boss while he was at UMD.

The tournament will take place from Dec. 26 2019 through Jan. 5 2020 in Ostrava and Trinec, Czech Republic.

Larson will miss part of his teams season for this opportunity. The Mariucci Classic falls in between these dates and could pit the Huskies against their old coach Bob Motzko.
