Brockway Township Home Damaged By Fire
A home in Brockway Township is believed to be a total loss after a fire that started on the deck spread to the rest of house on Saturday.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Beth Johnson of Sartell woke up to a bright light coming from the deck attached to the house and realized it was on fire. She woke up her husband, 35-year-old Joshua Johnson of Sartell, and fled the house with their children. Everyone in the house was able to get out safely.
A call was put in to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center just before 2:15 a.m.
Firefighters were able to put out of the fire before it spread from the roof to the rest of the house. However, the house is considered a total loss due to the amount of damage it sustained.
Authorities believe cigarette butts left on the deck were the cause of the fire.
