Clearwater Woman Loses Car In Bizarre Fire

When a Clearwater woman noted that her Ford Taurus was acting up, she probably didn’t expect what happened next.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Lindsay Voigt reported that her car had set on fire as it was parked outside her home just east of Clearwater on Saturday. She had been driving home when it had started to act up, and the car was smoking when she got home.

The report came in at 4:15 p.m.

When responders arrived, the car was in flames. While the fire was extinguished, the car is believed to be a total loss. The side of Voigt’s home also received damage as it melted from the heat of the flames.
