A Stearns County man has pleaded guilty to being a dangerous offender and received maximum sentencing for multiple violent crimes.
The Stearns County Attorney’s office says 39-year-old Lazaro Domingo Diaz has a long history of drug, weapon, gang and violent felony crimes. In October of 2017 while out on bail for Domestic Abuse charges Diaz returned to his victims home and assaulted them again. Officers responded to the scene and Diaz opened fired at police before being arrested. In December Diaz entered his guilty plea to multiple charges including First Degree Assault of a police officer.
On April 12 Diaz was sentenced to the maximum of 20 years.
