A major central Minnesota highway will be closing for reconstruction.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says Highway 15 between 66th Avenue in St. Augusta and Highway 55 in Kimball will be closing, a 12-mile stretch of road that will be worked on over the summer.

A signed detour is planned to run along Interstate 94 and several county roads. Drivers should expect delays.

All businesses along the stretch will remain open.

The highway will close on Monday, May 6 and is expected to be re-opened in late July.
