HuskIes At NHL Developmental Camps; Hendricks Hangs Em Up

It is NHL developmental camp season and Huskies are all over the country.

Head coach Brett Larson and former defensemen Jon Lizotte are in Pittsburgh. Other former Huskies around are Will Borgen in Buffalo, Blake Lizotte in Los Angeles, Ryan Poehling in Montreal, Patrick Newell with the Rangers and Robby Jackson in St. Louis.

The list of current Huskies is just as impressive with Nolan Walker in Boston, Jack Ahcan in Colorado, David Hrenak in Los Angeles, Nick Perbix in Tampa Bay and 2019 freshman Zach Okabe is in Ottawa.

Forward Sam Hentges is at the Minnesota Wild camp but had an unknown surgery at the end of last season and is still recovering.

In other sports news, former Huskies forward Matt Hendricks has retired from the NHL this week. Hendricks was a 2004 graduate of SCSU and made his NHL debut on March 27, 2009. He finishes with 54 goals and 62 assists for 116 points in 607 games.
