Archived: Huskies Fall To Beavers On Gridiron

The SCSU football team fell to 5-4 on the season with a 37-20 loss against Bemidji State Saturday at Husky Stadium.

The Huskies took an early 7-0 lead when junior quarterback Phil Klaphake found junior wideout Eli Shoemaker for a 74-yard touchdown. Shoemaker established career highs in the game of seven catches, 195 yards and three touchdowns. The Graham, Washington native now has over 1,000 yards receiving in his SCSU career.

However, the afternoon belonged to the Beavers as they rattled off 20 straight points to distance themselves from the Huskies.

St. Cloud State has two games remaining in 2012, both on the road. The Huskies take on Minot State on Saturday and conclude the season at Minnesota State-Moorhead on November 10th.
