Huskies fans, start making plans to travel to Fargo, North Dakota for the West Regional this upcoming weekend. The Men’s hockey team claims the #1 overall seed for the second season in a row. This is the first time any team has done that since the adaption of the current format.

The Huskies will play the Atlantic Hockey Conference championship winners the American International Yellow Jackets on Friday, March 29th.

The other game in Fargo will pit the Denver Pioneers against the Ohio State Buckeyes.w

The winners of this regional will play the winners of Northeast regional in Buffalo, New York on April 12th.

The Huskies last two appearances in the NCAA tournament had them as #1 seeds (2016, 2018) but they lost the first game during both of those years.

Coach Brett Larson was on the staff at UMD last season when they won the national championship and he will look to bring that postseason success to this Huskies team.
