The Huskies came into today’s game versus Winona State looking for revenge from the NSIC Tournament after the Warriors came out on top last Saturday 4-2.

Kate Kopeck would pitch for SCSU and Jordyn Kleman would go for Winona who only gave up 2 hits last Saturday against the Huskies.

St. Cloud State would go down in the 1st inning just like last week as Ann Smolenski would hit a 2-RBI single and give them a 2-0 lead.

Kleman would allow a SCSU baserunner into scoring position in each of the first three innings but would allow no runs across the board.

Winona would add another in the 3rd before they would hit two solo homeruns in the 5th and would lead 5-0 through five innings.

Morgan Emmans would get by a pitch to start the 6th and Maya Keating would follow it up with St. Clouds first hit of the game but they would not move any further than second base as Kleman would get the next three batters out.

The Huskies would be down to their final out and Alexandra Pinkowski would get a two out single in the 7th but Kleman was dealing all day long and would throw a complete game shutout and send St. Cloud into the elimination bracket.

SCSU will play tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. against Western Missouri who won the last matchup in February at the Kelly Laas Invitational 9-8. All the action will be heard live on 88.1 fm KVSC with myself Collin Rutkowski on the call.
