Archived: Huskies Sweep Tigers

The SCSU men’s hockey team found success at home over the weekend. The team swept WCHA opponent Colorado College at the NHEC. The Huskies started the weekend with a 5-3 victory on Friday night before completing the sweep with a 3-1 victory on Saturday.

The freshmen continued to shine scoring six of the eight goals on the weekend. Freshman Kalle Kossila scored in both games, he leads all WCHA rookies in scoring this season with ten goals. The WCHA honored the SCSU freshmen again this week naming Johnny Brodzinski the Rookie of the Week for his two goals and assist over the week. Senior, Drew LeBlanc continued his point streak, notching at least one point in each of the last seven games. Ben Hanowski notched a goal and an assist over the weekend to put his career point total at 95. 

With the wins the Huskies improve to 11-7-0 overall and 9-5-0 in the WCHA. The Huskies are in first place in the WCHA standings heading into the holiday break and are ranked 16 in the USCHO poll.
