Huskies volleyball picks up their 4th straight top 25 win Friday in a humid gym.

The conditions were not ideal at Halenbeck Hall during the game as the air outside brought in wet humid and sticky air in. You could see it as every other point the court needed to be wiped off, so no players slipped.

The Huskies went 22-25, 25-23, 25-21 and 25-22 to beat the Received Votes Winona State Warriors 3-1.

Sophomore Lindsey Rachel was dominating on the offensive side of the game all over the court. She finished with eight more kills at 23 then her closed teammate Chloe Dousette did at 15. She was also second in digs with 14, showing she can play in all six spots on the court. Head Coach Chad Braegelmann commended Rachel after the game.

“I really feel like she had another gear tonight and I feel like she took some great swings for us offensively,” Braegelmann said.

Junior Maddy Torve, the team’s main setter, finished with only one error and racked up 53 assists in the game.

Saturday was a hard fought battle with No. 25 Upper Iowa that had a mid match stop for a tornado warning.

The Huskies got off on the right foot with a first set win at 26-24. They followed it up with set straight set losses 17-25 and 23-25. With their backs against the wall the ladies turned it up and drew the last set winning 26-24. The final set would fall the Huskies way 15-13 and signing another win for the squad.

The Huskies look continue the run they have going next week against RV Minnesota State Mankato and No. 7 Concordia Saint Paul in their gyms.
