The men’s and women’s Husky Hoops teams posted victories on Saturday night in a pair of games heard live on KVSC. The women’s team started the day by defeating the Bulldogs 80-60 before the men took down UMD 97-68. 

Jessica Benson was stellar for the women’s team in the win over UMD. The sophomore guard was 7-8 from the field and finished with 24 points. Junior Sam Price also had 24 points in the victory.

The women’s team improved to 5-0 on the season with their first NSIC win of the year. 

The men’s game was never close as Demarius Cruz’ game-opening three pointer gave the Huskies a lead they would not relinquish. SCSU point guard Shaun Jensen led the Huskies with 11 points and 10 assists. 

The men are now 4-0 this season and 1-0 in NSIC play.
