SCSU’s basketball teams played a pair of road games this weekend. Friday night the teams played in Mankato against Minnesota State. Neither Husky squad could tame the Mavericks, the women’s team fell 100-66 while the men suffered a 97-77 defeat.

The men’s team rebounded Saturday when they took on the Concordia Golden Bears in St. Paul by a 70-66 final. Connor Niehaus threw two free throws with 1.9 second left to give the Huskies the victory. The women’s team was unable to defeat the Golden Bears despite a strong second-half battle. The women fell 67-61.

Both teams will play at Hallenbeck Hall this weekend. On Friday Southwest Minnesota State will be in town. The women’s game will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. Followed by the men’s game at 8:00 p.m. Saturday both teams will square off with the University of Sioux Falls (SD).
