ST. CLOUD, Minn. — It’s that time of year when KVSC announces the theme for its annual trivia weekend.

Each year, KVSC chooses a new theme based on a particular phenomenon or pop culture reference, and approximately 25% of the questions are based on the theme.

This is the contest’s 48th year running, and this year brings an exciting theme to excite all sci-fi fans and beyond.

“Trivia Wars: A New Ope” was revealed with a video introduction at the Trivia Reveal Party on Sunday, September 20 at the Red Carpet.

Over 50 people came together to see the theme reveal, and the room filled with laughter as the theme reveal video played on stage.

After the video played, KVSC Operations Manager Jim Grey took the stage dressed as the iconic character Princess Leia to finish off the reveal.

Last year’s theme was “Wild West Trivia: The Good, The Bad, and the Obscure,” with the team “Stefan’s Dream 27: The Magnificent Stefan” taking home the win for the eighth time in a row.

Jedi or Sith members can register their teams starting Monday, December 7, at KVSC.org/trivia. Registration costs $60; however, student teams can participate for free. Teams can have an unlimited number of players.

This year’s contest will start at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, and end at 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 7.
