ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s office are in for the midterm general election.

Some local races in St. Cloud included State Senate District 14, MN House 14A and 14B, as well as all four city council wards.

Incumbent DFL Aric Putnam won the Senate District 14 election against Republican Bernie Perryman with 55.94% of the vote, totaling 19,679 votes.

Perryman and Putnam faced off during a debate at St. Cloud State University at the beginning of October. During the debate, candidates focused on policy and what they would do if elected. Putnam and Perryman disagreed on a lot of topics during the debate, including how to address fraud, public safety, immigration enforcement, school funding, and data centers.

In the MN House of Representatives, DFL Abdi Daisane and incumbent Republican Mike Conway were up for election in District 14A. Daisane won with 51.6% of the vote, totaling 9,164 votes.

For District 14B, DFL Zach Dorholt and Republican Sue Ek were on the ballot. Dorholt won with 56.88% of the votes, totaling 9,869.

Candidates for 14A and 14B debated live at KVSC in September, with questions focused on housing, affordability, fraud, government accountability, public safety, and education.

For city council races in Ward One, which covers most of the SCSU campus as well as most of the city’s downtown, Charlie Hobbs and Dave Masters were on the ballot. Hobbs won with a large margin at 62.85% of the vote.

In Ward Two, which covers the east side of St. Cloud and some of the city’s north side, Karen Larson went unopposed and will be taking office.

Luke Christian and Hudda Ibrahim were on the ballot for Ward Three. Christian won with 62.23% of the vote, representing the Northwest part of St. Cloud near Sartell.

Finally, in Ward Four, Joe Baratta and Craig Heururig vied for the open seat. Baratta took 53.72% of the vote, representing the city’s south side and part of downtown.
