Archived: LeBlanc, Kossila WCHA Player of the Week

St. Cloud State men’s hockey team captain, Drew LeBlanc was named the Red Baron WCHA Offensive Player of the week for his performance last weekend as the Huskies swept visiting Minnesota State. LeBlanc, a senior from Hermantown, MN charted five points over the weekend with two goals and three assists.

Kalle Kossila, freshman forward on the men’s hockey team also received mention by the WCHA this week. Kossila was named the WCHA Red Baron Rookie of the Week charting four points in the sweep over the Mavericks. The freshman from Finland had a goal and an assist in each game and currently leads WCHA rookies with seven points. 

This weekend the men’s team will travel to Denver to play a series in the Mile High City. Denver is currently ranked 3rd in the uscho.com poll and St. Cloud State is ranked 18th. Both teams have two WCHA wins and share the top place in the standings.
