Archived: Men’s Hockey Splits With UNO

The SCSU men’s hockey team split a pair of home games this weekend with Nebraska-Omaha. The Mavericks won 6-5 on Friday, with the Huskies getting revenge on Saturday with a 2-1 win.

St Cloud State forward David Morley’s hat trick was not enough for the Huskies on Friday night as the team fell in a high-scoring contest. Fellow freshman Kalle Kossila had the Huskies other two goals in the loss.

Saturday’s game came right down to the wire, with SCSU freshman Johnny Brodzinski tallying the game winner halfway through the third period. Ryan Faragher made 22 saves in the win.

The Huskies are now 9-7 overall and 7-5 in WCHA play, good for fourth place behind Denver, Minnesota and Minnesota State, Mankato.
