Miks Goes the Distance, #14 SCSU Takes Down Parkside

 St. Cloud State (5-0, 0-0 NSIC) lefthander Sheldon Miks fired his first 9.0-inning complete game since April 6 of 2017 as the #14 Huskies defeated UW-Parkside (0-5, 0-0 GLIAC) 5-2 on Monday afternoon.

Miks chartered 9.0 innings of 6-hit ball, allowing two earned while walking two and striking out 8. He pounded the zone at a 71.6% strike rate and picked up 15 whiffs, mostly on his changeup.

After falling behind 2-0 in the bottom of the third, St. Cloud State put together a five-run top of the fourth. Lenny Walker cut the lead in half with an RBI groundout, then Matt Quade ripped a two-run single to put the Huskies up by one. Aaron Hamman punctuated the inning by belting a two-run home run to left.

Rangers starter Peyton Schneider struck out 9 over 6.2 innings, surrendering the five earned runs on five hits and two walks.

The Huskies take on Missouri S&T at around 4:00 p.m. later Monday afternoon on the KVSC Sports Stream.
