A local senator has received state wide recognition for his work to preserve small businesses in Minnesota.

The Minnesota branch of the National Federation of Independent Business has presented Milaca native, Andrew Mathews, with the Guardian of Small Business award. The NFIB says Mathews work in the state senate has always been on the side of small business owners.

The NFIB Minnesota state director, Mike Hickey, presented the award to Matthews last Friday.
