The Untold Story of How Independent Quarry Cinema in Cold Spring Defied Corporate Censorship and Fears, Becoming One of a Handful of Minnesota Theaters to Screen Sony’s The Interview

Recently, Sony was hacked, and because of this hack and the ensuing threats that followed, the company decided not to widely release their film “The Interview.” However, right before Christmas, Sony decided to allow the release of the movie to independent theaters, and within the state of Minnesota there were ten that showed it, including the Quarry Cinema in Cold Spring.  Today as cinematic history unfolds on an international and local level, the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota heads to the movies as Arts and Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack talks with Chuck Wiser, the manager of Quarry Cinema, and gets a perspective on “The Interview” scandal from KVSC’s very own Movies on the Radio duo, Dick Hill and the Man in the Box.

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
