Archived: Police Search In Sauk Rapids Turns Up Meth And Guns
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force conducted a search warrant for controlled substances in Benton County Wednesday night.
According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Department, the warrant was for the residence at 2400 Golden Spike Road in Sauk Rapids.
Law enforcement found numerous items and paraphernalia for the sale and use of methamphetamine. Also found in the residence was an undetermined amount of meth and multiple guns.
During the search the 33-year-old Lazaro Diaz was at the residence and was arrested on probable cause charges related to a stabbing from several weeks ago in St. Cloud. Diaz was taken to the Stearns County Jail and is awaiting formal charges.
19-year-old Melanie Quick of Willmar was also arrested on scene for outstanding warrants from Todd and Benton Counties. Quick was brought to the Benton County Jail.
Additional charges resulting from the search warrant are still pending.
