Archived: Rox Lose In Extra Innings After Late Comeback
The St. Cloud Rox fell to the Duluth Huskies 9-to-8 in ten innings yesterday after scoring six runs in the final two innings of regulation.
The Rox took an early one run lead in the top of second, but Duluth came back and took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of that inning. St. Cloud and Duluth both added a run in the third making the score 5 to 2. However, Duluth pulled away in the fifth inning scoring three more runs, making the game 8 to 2.
The Rox didn’t get back on the scoreboard until the top of eight, scoring five runs to pull within one of Duluth. They tied it up in the ninth. Then in the bottom of the Tenth inning the Huskies scored the winning run off a Rox error.
The Rox are back in action tonight against the Alexandria Blue Anchors. The first pitch tonight at Joe Faber Field is scheduled for 7:05.
