St. Cloud State Softball is getting ready for the upcoming season and that includes the announcement of their next captains.

A pair of seniors will lead the team this spring and they will be second basemen Maya Keating and center fielder Cassie Francesconi.

The women both enjoyed breakout seasons in 2019.

Keating earn First Team All-Region and Second Team All-Conference. She got these by way of a .401 batting average, 77 total hits and a .447 on-base percentage in 61 games, all of these led the NSIC.

Francesconi played in all 61 games in the middle of the outfield. She hit .319 with 51 hits and her own career-high 33 runs. Her 113 putouts and five assists led the entire outfield in both categories.
