St. Cloud State Basketball Picks Up Three Out Of Four This Weekend

St. Cloud State Women’s basketball team comes up short losing 60-51 to University of Mary Friday night at Halenbeck Hall.

The Huskies failed to stop the Beavers leading scorer Cassie Askvig who scored 21 points and Lexie Schneider who scored 13 points. The Huskies two leading scorers were Katrina Theis (16 points) and Madelin Dammann (13 points).

SCSU bounced back the next day against Minot state 80-56 at home getting their first conference victory of the season.

The Huskies had four players in double digits in the win, leading scorers Nikki Kilboten (12 points), Katrina Theis (12 points), Madeline Dammann (13 points), and career high in points for Brehna Evans (15 points). Minot state leading scorer was Mariah Payne with 22 points.

St. Cloud Men’s Basketball (3-4) comes up huge with the win against university of Mary (5-1) 88-56 making this coach Matt Reimer’s 100th win of his career. Leading scorers for the Huskies Ilya Tyrtyscnik (20 points), Andrijia Blatancic (19 points), while University of Mary leading scorer was Jaylan White (11 points)

St. Cloud Men’s Basketball (4-4) comes out of the weekend with the sweep winning 78-73 against Minot State, including a clutch finish they haven’t seen this season.

Trevon Marshall comes up huge in this win with 31 points Saturday night while Ilya Tyrtyschnik scored 17 points. The key of this win was it being a close battle with 45 seconds left the huskies made five of seven free throws to secure the dub.
