First-generation college students, faculty, and staff will be celebrated by St. Cloud State University.

St. Cloud State University Communications says institutions nationwide will be holding a 1st Gen Celebration as part of the 53rd anniversary of the Higher Education Act.

St. Cloud State President Robbyn Wacker will start the celebration by sharing her story as a first-generation college student. She will also be posing for pictures at a photo booth.

The event will be hosted by the 1st Gen Committee of St. Cloud State, who will also be sending out a campus-wide survey to learn about demographics and campus  involvement. 

The celebration will be held in the Cascade Room at the Atwood Memorial Center on Thursday, November 8 from 9-10:30 a.m.
