Trevon Marshall notches 1000 career points at St. Cloud State

St. Cloud State Men’s Basketball guard Trevon Marshall scored his 1000th point in his career on February 15th vs. Northern State. 

The senior out of Evansville, Ill becomes the 43rd player in St. Cloud State history to score 1000 career points. It is the third consecutive season that SCSU has seen a player achieve the 1000 point mark on their home floor. 

Trevon Marshall is currently in his fourth and final season at SCSU. Before his college days, Marshall played high school basketball at Evanston Township High School earning all conference honors at Evanston Township and the Boys Basketball Excellence award. Marshall was surrounded by family and friends from Evanston during the February 15th game against Northern State when the guard hit the historic career mark on senior day. 

While at St. Cloud State, Marshall opened his freshman year under Matt Reimer playing 30 games for the Huskies and scoring in double figures three times that year. Marshall followed up with a sophomore season playing in 33 games tallying 149 points. Junior year Marshall appeared in all 31 games and made 12 starts helping guide the Huskies to a very successful 22-9 season making a NCAA Tournament appearance and a conference tournament win.

Currently in his senior season, Trevon Marshall has started 24 games for SCSU leading a team high of 21.4 points per game, the highest margin in his career. Along with leading the team in scoring, Marshall shoots a team best 48% in field goals, 78% from the free throw line and 4.9 assists a game through 26 games. 

St. Cloud State currently post a 13-13 record heading into their final weekend of the regular season, traveling to Bemidji State February 21st and Minnesota – Crookston February 22nd. The Huskies will look to make a late season push to host a home game in the NSIC Stanford Health Tournament beginning on February 26th.
