Archived: Turkey Barn In Eden Valley Goes Up In Flames
A turkey barn in Eden Valley was lost after it set on fire Saturday morning.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says a railroad company called their Communications center just after 4 a.m. A train had been passing by a barn in Eden Valley Township when they saw it was on fire.
Authorities arrived to discover that the turkey barn was fully engulfed.
The owners of the barn, 59-year-old Steve David Ries and 40-year old Jamie Lynn Ries, both of Eden Valley, said the barn was empty. The barn had set on fire just four hours before more turkeys were expected to arrive.
The barn was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
