The St. Cloud State women’s basketball team remains undefeated (4-0) after a home match-up with Dakota State on Tuesday night. SCSU won 88-63. It was a tight matchup in the first half as Dakota State held onto the lead until the 5:10 mark. At halftime the Huskies held the lead by six, 41-35. In the final 20 minutes the Huskies took control, led by senior, Sam Price. Price was practically unstoppable shooting six of seven from behind the arc. She also hit five of six free throw to tie her career high record of 25 points. Coach Lori Fisch stressed that she was adamant her freshman players get minutes in these games. In addition the Price, three Huskies scored in double-digits, two of them were freshmen. Senior, Jessica Benson netted 16 points and freshman Betsy MacDonald had 12 while fellow freshman Chelsea Nooker finished with 11 points. The St. Cloud State Women’s and Men’s basketball teams will open up conference play Saturday afternoon in Halenbeck Hall when Minnesota Duluth’s basketball teams will come to town. SCSU’s basketball teams both have perfect records through the non-conference portion of the season.
