St Cloud State’s fishing team member Chizta Xiong competed in the Fishing National Championship on the Potomac River in Maryland last week.

He was able to catch 9 fish over the course of the event for an official weigh in of 23 pounds and 12 ounces. This placed him 55th overall out of 148. First place weighed in at 51 pounds and 3 ounces with 15 fish.

The event was for teams of two but Xiong chose to fish alone and placed 7th out of the singles in the event.
