Archived: 100+ SCSU Employees to Receive Early Separation Offers

St. Cloud State says next Wednesday it will issue more than 100 early separation incentives to campus employees. It’s the next step in the university’s attempt to offset its projected $14 million dollar budget shortfall for fiscal year 2012. The estimated severance included with each Board Early Separation Incentive, or BESI, will vary based on sick and vacation leave balances. Out of the 100-plus BESI offers, the university anticipates just over 20 of them will be accepted and completed. Last fall, SCSU issued approximately 200 early separation incentives to faculty and 28 were accepted and completed. Once the early separation offers are issued, university staff has three weeks to accept or deny the offers.
