Archived: 2010 Energy Expo in Energy City
The "energy capital of Minnesota" is hosting the fourth annual Energy Expo Saturday, February 27. Elk River, Minnesota was elected in 1997 as the geographical focal point to demonstrate energy efficient and renewable energy technology. This event is free to the public and features a keynote speaker, world renowned polar explorer and Minnesota native Will Steger. He will present his eyewitness testimony of polar climate change.
Kids are also welcome to participate in a variety of events scheduled throughout the day. Tricia and the Toonies will perform a puppet show about the creation of an edible landfill. This event is taking place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Elk River High School.
