St. Cloud Police officers cited more than 300 drivers for speeding during the month of July as part of the statewide safe and sober campaign. In all, 321 drivers received speeding citations within the St. Cloud city limits in July. In St. Cloud, drivers going 10 miles per hour over the speed limit face a $123 fine. Drivers going 20 miles per hour over the limit face double that fine, and those driving more than 100 miles an hour can lose their license for six months. Each year in Minnesota, speed contributes to more than 100 traffic deaths and 300 serious injuries.
