A 61-year-old man is in jail for allegedly trying to run over the manager of a gas station in his vehicle. It happened at around 8:30 Tuesday morning at the Super America on 2200 West Division Street in St. Cloud. Police say Patrick Schlangen of Richmond was driving and tried to hit the store manager with his car. Police say the manager was not hurt, but the suspect got away.

About an hour later, police found Schlangen three blocks from the Super America where the incident took place. Police say the suspect then led officers on a 34 mile pursuit which ended when the driver crashed into a light pole in Paynesville. Schlangen is being held in the Stearns County Jail where he faces charges of fleeing officers, reckless driving, and disorderly conduct. No one was hurt during the pursuit.
