New student housing, retail space and a welcome center may be taking the place of the former Coborn’s grocery store on 5th Avenue South, but the Coborn family name is there to stay. St. Cloud State President Earl Potter III said these facilities will be named Coborn Plaza to honor and recognize the Coborn families dedication to the area and community improvement.
The facilities are the first part of the 100 million dollar “Fifth Avenue Live” project. Coborn Plaza will house around 455 students and include 19,000 feet of retail space in addition to a St. Cloud State Welcome Center.
