Archived: 6 SCSU Programs Show Signs of Life
6 of the 30 majors, minors and pre-professional programs at St. Cloud State in jeopardy of being discontinued are showing signs of life. The Strategic Planning Committee says six of the departments up for elimination provided compelling arguments supporting the need for their respective programs.
The following programs have been upgraded from the “elimination” category to the “consolidation and reorganization” category: The Art History major, Earth & Space Teaching Major, Electrical Engineering master, Network Modeling & Simulation major, Mathematics Teaching master, and the French program.
This means that there are now 24 majors, minors and pre-professional programs at St. Cloud State that are in jeopardy of being eliminated. Those programs include Accounting Minor, Biology Teaching MS, Chemistry BES, Community Education Master, Early Childhood Education Master, Earth Sciences Minor, Health Education BES Major/Minor, Physical Education Master, Social Science Education MS, Aviation Maintenance Management BAS, Correction Minor, Dance Minor, Information Media Major/Minor, Physical/Health Disabilities GC, Private Security Minor, Social Science Major/Minor, Chemistry BA, Geology major, Foreign Languages Minor/Russian minor, Humanities major/minor, Insurance major/minor, Outdoor Education minor/Therapeutic Recreation minor, Public Administration major/minor, Soviet and eurasian Studies minor.
