80 St. Cloud-based soldiers departed this weekend for a year of service. Soldiers of Company B, 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion will serve in Iraq in support of Operation New Down, the drawdown phase of US Military operations in Iraq. Before departing overseas, the troops will spend two months in Fort Hood, Texas for pre-deployment training before their 10 month deployment to Iraq. This is the second deployment for Company B.
