A total of nine cows have been stolen from Stearns County farms in the last five days. The Sheriff’s office says calves have been taken from properties in the townships of Millwood, St. Martin, as well as two separate thefts in Melrose. In all four incidents, authorities say it appears someone parked nearby, walked to the farm and carried or guided the cows to their vehicle. The Sheriff’s office is urging farmers to secure their livestock and be on the watch for suspicious activity. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (320) 251-4240.
