Property owners in Stearns County have until December 15 to file a homestead classification. A property owner may qualify if the owner or a qualifying relative has occupied the property for homestead purposes on December 1, 2011 and the property was previously classified as a non-homestead. Stearns County residents can also qualify if a property was purchased in the last year. Contact the county assessor at 320-656-3680 or stop in their office to file a homestead application.
