Because of recent weather conditions, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has placed temporary fire restrictions on most of the northern half of Minnesota. The temporary burning restrictions mean the state will not give out permits to burn brush or waste until conditions improve.

While the risk has declined since yesterday, many of the restrictions are still in place for counties including Benton and Stearns.
