Shortly after 9 p.m. Monday, St. Cloud Police officers were sent to the 1500 block of Garfield Court for a report of a domestic assault in progress. According to the report, 24-year-old Jeremy Maurice Johnson of St. Cloud choked a 30-year-old St. Cloud woman to near unconsciousness.

Johnson was taken to the Stearns County Jail and held for court on the charges of domestic assault and domestic assault by strangulation.
