Archived: Bus Passenger Reportedly Threatened with Handgun

Service on a Jefferson Lines bus was disrupted in central Minnesota after a passenger reported he was threatened by another passenger with a handgun.

Authorities determined that no threat was made. A motorist following a bus called the Sherburne County sheriff’s office Tuesday to report a passenger hanging out of the rear emergency exit window. Sheriff Joel Brott says as the bus slowed at an intersection, the man jumped from the window. The man told officers he had locked
himself in the bathroom and then jumped from the bus after he had been threatened.
Officers emptied all passengers from the bus.

The sheriff tells the St. Cloud Times it was determined that no one on the bus had made a threat with a firearm. The bus continued to Minneapolis.
