Archived: National Speaker on Depression, Suicidal Tendencies Visits SCSU
The pressures of academic life, relationships and other stresses facing students today can be tough to handle alone, which is one reason the University Program Board is bringing a national speaker to campus. “To Write Love on Her Arms”, is a presentation by Jamie Tworkowski who founded a non-profit group in 2006. The group’s main goal is to help those who suffer from self-injury, depression, and suicidal tendencies find hope, support and love. By telling stories and talking about honesty and community in a dynamic, conversational and hopeful way, Tworkowski lets students know that no matter what, they are not alone. Wednesday (today) Tworkowski will tell his story at SCSU in the Kimberly Riche Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Students can attend for free.
