Archived: Holiday Report: Salvation Army Raised 12% Less Money
The St. Cloud Salvation Army raised 12% less money during the 2010 holiday season compared to the 2009 season. Donations this season totaled just over $450,000, compared to last year’s total of just over $511,000. But there is a silver lining. Bell ringers in central Minnesota raised $16,000 more than they did last year. The Salvation Army says the overall decrease was due to a drop in larger individual gifts. The St. Cloud Salvation Army wants people to know just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean they’re no longer accepting donations and volunteers.
