St. Cloud State is one of 311 schools in the nation to receive a prestigious honor from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The foundation added SCSU to its Community Engagement Classification, a roster of colleges and universities that regularly exchange knowledge and resources with the community. Some of the university’s community engagement initiatives include: the Welcome Center at Coborn Plaza, the Community Garden, the Science Express, Piplines Summer Camps, and involvement with various community organizations. The Carnegie Foundation is an independent policy and research center that supports needed transformations in American education.
