A St. Cloud driver was arrested Tuesday due to a headlight violation; police initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue North. Ervin Murdo, the driver, fled the scene on foot, but was caught by police after a short pursuit. Murdo allegedly drove the vehicle without the permission of its owner, and was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with 2nd degree DWI, driving after revocation, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and fleeing police on foot. Murdo is currently being held in Stearns County jail.
