Archived: Funeral for New London Soldier is Sunday
Hundreds of people lined the streets in south central Minnesota to pay respects to a New London soldier killed in Afghanistan. Army Pfc. Ryane Clark was killed on October 4th after his unit was attacked by insurgents. The 22-year-old was based at Fort Bragg, N.C., and had been in Afghanistan since December.
His casket arrived at Willmar Municipal Airport Thursday afternoon and the procession went through Willmar and Spicer and ended in New London. Over 1,000 students stood outside Willmar’s senior and middle schools as the Patriot Guard, along with the rescue squad and fire departments, joined the family members in the procession. Clark’s funeral will be Sunday at New London-Spicer High School.
