A former middle-school band teacher in Wright County has pleaded guilty to leaving lewd notes for students. The county attorney’s office says 54-year-old Martin Bartels entered his plea Monday. Bartels was accused of leaving notes in the lockers of two of his female students. The criminal complaint says one note compliments a girl’s legs and "great curves."

Prosecutors say video surveillance shows Bartels putting the notes in the girls’ lockers. Bartels resigned as music teacher at Buffalo Community Middle School last January. He pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge, a misdemeanor. Sentencing is set for Nov. 22.
